BUT focuses on development of fail-operational powertrains and perception systems

Brno University of Technology is the largest technical university in the Czech Republic and is one of Europe’s elite technical and research universities. Brno University of Technology has very rich tradition as it was founded in 1899. The university consists of 8 faculties and 3 university institutes covering broad range of technical science and it is one of major research institutions in Czech Republic with more than 2000 PhD students and 1000 academics staff. The project will be solved by team at R&D division of the university Central European Institute of Technology. European centre of excellence CEITEC BUT is research institute established within the university and is one of major research infrastructure projects financed by the EU. Central European Institute of Technology provides unique connection of R&D teams in Engineering (embedded systems, communication and control technologies), Material Science (materials, nano and micro technologies), and Life Science and state-of-the-art research infrastructure available for the project solution. Research group Cybernetic in Material Science will participate in the project. The group is aimed to development of sensors, embedded systems, control algorithms and their applications in industry.

BUT will provide expertise in diagnostics and fail operational control of powertrains, and in fail-operational perception and data-fusion systems.
BUT will contribute to methodologies for fail-operational powertrain and perception systems. BUT will also deal with design of testing tools and methods for validation of powertrains and perception systems.
