The Project

The Certification framework project ArchitectECA2030 aims to provide a harmonized pan European and American certification procedure, including periodical re-certification of automated vehicles, which may become the legal resilience for automated vehicles.

Therefore the Certification framework initiative focusses on two streams:

The 1st stream provides a framework for the verification and validation of automated cars with SAE Level 2 3, 4, and 5 capabilities.

The 2nd stream is to act as a platform to enable a structured and focused communication towards the various stakeholders inside and outside of the project.

ArchitectECA2030 connects 21 partners from 9 different EU and USA countries. The project is coordinated by Infineon Technologies AG, a globally leading semiconductor player, launched on 1 July 2020 for 36 months. This project is supported by a 4 M€ funding from the ECSEL Joint Undertaking (JU) under grant agreement No 877539.

The Architect ECA2030 Project


 ArchitectECA2030 has been accepted for funding within  (ECSEL JU) in collaboration with the European Union’s H2020 Framework Programme under grant agreement No 877539.

The project will receive an ECSEL JU funding up to 4 M€ completed with national budgets from – Germany, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Austria, Norway, Sweden funding from national funding authorities.
